Yes.. the Zoo.. Again!! :)

We went to the Zoo today with some of the girls from my old ward.

Abby and Lauren were SOOO good for me. It was such a hot day!! We were there for about 4 hours and they were still angels.. hehe. (I swear bribing for a ride on the merry go round works wonders on a 3 year olds attitude!! :) ) We took some fun pictures. There are TONS.. so here they are!!

Hey.. we are planning to get together once a week and do fun things. We all want to get out of the house and do fun things this summer!! If anybody wants to come with us.. let me know and I will tell you what is planned for the coming week!! The more the merrier!!

Pleasant Grove Rodeo

On Friday night Abby and I went down to Pleasant Grove with my parents to have dinner with my sister and her husband at their home. Afterwards we went to a Rodeo. We had a BLAST!! Abby just LOVED it! I asked Abby what her favorite part of the rodeo was and she told me it was the "motorcycles (they had 2 guys doing tricks/jumps) and the girls on horses (barrel racing)". Then she would run around pretending to gallop like a horse. I honestly didn't think that she would enjoy it as much as she did. Mike stayed home with Lauren because we knew that she wouldn't enjoy a late night. Plus.. Mike had the evening to himself. (Lauren goes to bed pretty early). He is the best hubby in the world!! Anyways, here are some fun pictures of that night. In the first one, I was having a laughing fit, that is why my face is so red.. hehe

Abby's First Broken Bone!!

Yesterday was our first trip ever to the Primary Children's Hospital. Here's what happened...

We had my mom over for lunch and swimming yesterday. While I was making lunch, Abby was sitting on her chair eating when she lost balance (she was on her knees I think) and fell of the chair and hit our tile floor. She immediately started crying and so I went over and comforted her. She didn't cry for very long.. maybe a min. Then she sat on my mom's lap while I finished making lunch. I feel SOOO bad that I didn't take it more seriously. I thought maybe she just bruised her arm or something. So she just took it easy for the afternoon. Not really complaining about her arm or anything unless I tried to pick her up or something. I found that she would start crying when I would pick her up around her ribs. Then I started thinking maybe she bruised a rib. When Mike got home we debated and debated if we needed to take her to the instacare or maybe the nighttime pediatrics. She was laughing and talking. She could raise her arm (mostly), move her neck back and forth, I didn't know what to do. When the nighttime pediatrics called me back they told me that I better take her to Primary Childrens. Then I had the little problem of Lauren. We didn't want to take her with us so we found a babysitter that would come while she was asleep and just make sure she was ok. My cute mom came back and helped us out with that.
So, we get there FINALLY around 9pm. We didn't have to wait in the waiting room very long.. they took us into this little room and a RN talked to Abby and asked her where her arm hurt. She pointed at her elbow. Then her shoulder. He didn't really know what was wrong so they gave us a room so we could talk to a doctor.
So we go to the room and wait and wait.. a nurse comes in and starts talking to us about billing.. here's the clencher!! We are in between insurances right now!! Mike's new insurance doesn't kick in until July 1st!! They said that they would work with us though.. she was really nice.. so, after that the doctor comes in.. checks her arm and says that he THINKS that she just bruised some tissue. He recommended an Xray because he said that he has been known to be wrong. So we WAIT AND WAIT some more.. finally ANOTHER doctor comes in and checks her arm again. This time Abby starts reacting more when the dr presses on her shoulder. She says that she wants to get an Xray. So we WAIT AND WAIT some more.. and then they come and take us to the Xray room and they lay Abby on the bed and take a couple Xray pics. Then they take us back to the room and we... you guessed it.. we WAITED and WAITED some more!! Abby was funny at this point.. she got off the bed right as the drs came back in and she said to us.. "OK.. I am ready to go home now!!" (It was about 12:30am by this point)We all kind of laugh and the Dr tells her that she is almost done. They told us that she broke her collar bone. There was nothing that they could do about it but prescribe some strong pain meds and give her a sling. So we said that would be fine and they went and got a sling. We think Great.. they will go get the sling and we can go home.. NOPE.. We waited about 40 more mins for them to come back. They finally did about 1am. A nurse puts her sling on and gives us the discharge papers and we are on our way.
We get home, Abby gives grandma a kiss, we put her to bed, I take my mom home, I come back home and FALL ASLEEP!!
Pheww!!! What a long night.

I have to say on a side note though.. I am SOOO blessed!! There was a tiny infant in the next room just screaming and I seriously started to cry!! Then I saw another little boy about 2 years old with both hands bandaged up.. (maybe he burned them, I am not sure). But it really made me realize how blessed I am to have my life. There are so many people in this world that have many more challenges than I do and it really made me stop to think that I need to stop complaining about the little things and look for the blessings that my loving Heavenly Father has given me.

Anyways, Abby is doing really good today. She is a tough cookie!!

Swimming in our Pool!!

So our pool has been open for about a week now and we were waiting for a good night to go out. On Monday we decided it was the best night so we took the girls out and went swimming. Lauren absolutely loved it! When we were in the condo getting everything ready she just wanted to sit in the floaty thing. It was so cute. When we took it to the pool, she was really excited to get in it. Abby wasn't quite sure of the pool this time. She mostly stayed by the pool and would occationally put her feet in. She loved to play with the pink floaty stick though. Maybe next time she will get in. Hey.. we have all summer right??

Liberty Park

Yesterday we went to Liberty Park with some of our friends from the ward where we used to live. It was a blast. The kids loved to play together. They loved the playground, running through the water and playing in the sand!! Afterwards we went over and had snowcones. Abby and Lauren had alot of fun and it really wore them out. I took Abby's wet shirt off and put a blanket around her to keep her warm. When we were walking back to the car Abby fell asleep.. (very uncomfortably!) We can't wait to all get together again. I think we are going to go to the zoo together next week!! Yeah for Summer!

Lagoon!!

We went to Lagoon on Saturday for Mike's Work Lagoon Day. We had a lot of fun. Mike and I went around 11ish and stayed till a little before 4pm. Mike's mom and dad were so great to watch the girls for us so we could have some fun and get on all the big rides. While we were in line for the Spider.. NEXT ones in line.. The power to Lagoon went out!! EVERY ride was stopped. We were frustrated, but it was ok because it was about the time that we had to go get Lauren and Abby. The power was out at Lagoon for about an hour and a half. When we returned, everything was back to normal but because that happened.. everyone at Lagoon that day gets to go back to Lagoon FREE before June 30th. YEAH!!! We get to go to Lagoon again!! Abby didn't really like many of the rides. She would stand in line fine, but when it came to getting on the ride she would freak!! On one of the rides (a new octupus one) we waiting 50 min(longest line of the day)!!! When we got on the ride she FREAKED out!! She was screaming to let her off. I told her that it would be ok and she would probably like it. FINALLY the ride started and she was fine!! I am so glad I made her go through with it!! (I'm a mean mom huh?) Anyways, her favorite ride there that she kept wanting to go on was "Puff the magic dragon." She LOVED that ride.

I think Lauren had a good time. She had a pretty straight face on the merry go round, but all in all I think Lauren just enjoyed watching the rides and watching the people. We spent 3 1/2 hours there with the girls and I really think they had a good time. I didn't get a chance to take too many pictures, but I did get a video of Mike and Abby on Puff the Magic Dragon. The ride goes kinda fast so it is hard to see them. They are in the middle. Now we are debating on what to do next time we go to Lagoon. We might try Lagoon a Beach. Wish us luck!!

Catch up!!

I haven't written a new post for a little while. Lets see what has gone on this week. First I have to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my beautiful sister Robin!! I hope she has a wonderful day today!!

Ok, last Friday we went to Lagoon. It was so much fun. I didn't want to bring my camera in and carry it around everywhere so I don't have any pictures. Abby had a good time if she went on a ride WITH us. We would wait in line for something like "Bulgy the Whale" and she would be so excited, but then as soon as we put her on the ride and walk away, she would FREAK out. She hated riding the rides alone. We are going to go to Lagoon again for Mike's work day on Saturday (14th). So we will make sure that she goes on everything with us and I think everything will be ok. Plus, I will bring my camera that time and take some pictures of the day!!

On Tuesday (June 10th), we went to Members Night at the Zoo. It was alot of fun. They have a new carousel there and Abby was jumping for joy waiting in line. She was so excited to get on. I love that they keep making the zoo better and better. It is a great place to go when you just want to get out of the house for a few hours!! The kids love it too. Lauren is so good for me when we go. She just watches all the kids and points at everything.

Other than that, we have had a pretty quiet week. Tonight we are going to go to my Grandma's house and celebrate my sisters birthday and have a bbq, so we are excited about that.

Here are a couple of pictures we took at the zoo and one of Abby dressing up.. I think she kinda looks like a hippie. :)

Abby is so weird..

You can definetly tell that my little Abby loves to rhyme. This morning Lauren was kinda getting on her nerves and she kept saying to her.. "Stop it little boppit little doodlebop bing." She said this to her about 5 times this morning. It is funny that she doesn't just tell her to "stop it." Her way is much more entertaining.. hehe. Anyways, I just wanted to share it with you guys.. she really makes me laugh!!

Lauren and Abby go swimming

This weekend my cute brother and sister in law took the girls so Mike and I could take the afternoon and go on a date... Which was very overdue!! We went and saw the new Indiana Jones movie and then went to lunch afterwards. We had so much fun.. it was just relaxing. I knew the girls were in good hands. Bryan and Chantel took the girls swimming at the Rec center in Bountiful. This place looks SOOO much fun. Lauren had never been swimming before, they told me she had a BLAST. Abby was a little cautious at first (as always), but then she had a BLAST as well. There are lots of pictures of Lauren because Abby wouldn't look at the camera.. hehe.. oh well!! Here they are!! There are a BUNCH..
